Katara sighed as she looked around the palace. Their family was coming today and she was not at all happy to hear that. Zuko tried to reassure her everything would be ok, but he wasn’t exactly happy himself.

“I’m sure everything will be alright.” He stated as he wrapped his arms around her.

“That’s what you say every time, but you know that’s not true. Something always goes wrong. Our family is just not meant to be together, especially the way it is now. I mean, really, who are we not related to?” She sighed, rolling her eyes at her husband.

Zuko opened his mouth to speak, but no words came out at first. He had no idea what to say. “We aren’t related to Aang?” He suggested meekly. It still wasn’t working.

“Gee thanks. That’s comforting.” She rolled her eyes once more before she left for the gardens. Zuko noticed his wife tended to roll her eyes a lot more whenever their family was coming.

Zuko started to follow his wife, but they both stopped in their tracks upon hearing two people arguing. They knew exactly who those two were.

“It’s good to see you father.” Zuko sighed, turning his attention towards Ozai and his new wife, Toph. That was the biggest shock of all for everyone. “And you too Toph.”

“Yeah, yeah, we’re here. Now let’s get this over with quickly! I’m hungry!” Toph exclaimed. She continued walking with Katara out into the gardens, leaving Zuko and Ozai by themselves.

“I still can’t believe you married Toph. Of all people, Toph! That’s just wrong!” Zuko shouted. “I shouldn’t have let you go. I should have just ended you when I had the chance. But no, Katara said it wasn’t right. And Toph agreed. I should have seen something then.”

“You have no right to say anything. I don’t exactly approve of your wife. Honestly Zuko, a water tribe peasant?” Ozai scuffed at his son.

“Forget it! I promised Katara I wasn’t going to start anything. Let’s just go eat. I’m sure your daughter will be here soon, and my brother-in-law.” Zuko led the way to the gardens where their wives were.

No sooner were they out there did Sokka come with his wife. Even after Zuko constantly teased him, Sokka still went after her. It only proved how desperate he truly was. Or how crazy.

“So, are we too late for the food?” Sokka smiled as he sat across from Katara.

“Sokka, dear, must you always think about the food?” Ursa asked sweetly. Her voice always made Sokka go crazy.

“No. I think about other things as well. I think about you!” He winked as he leaned in to kiss his wife.

“This is just wrong.” Zuko whispered to Katara. “I can’t believe this.”

“You’re telling me.” She glared at him. She hated this more than he did. “So, would Ursa be my mother or my sister? What do I call her? I mean, she’s your mother, but then she’s my brothers’ wife. I don’t know!” Zuko shrugged. He wasn’t sure himself. Would Sokka be his brother or his second father?

“You can’t forget about us!” The small group looked up to see Azula and Hakoda standing there.

“Dad! You’re here! And you brought Azula. How nice.” Katara’s smile quickly changed into a frown after seeing Azula.

“Of course! She is my wife.” Hakoda grinned before stepping aside to reveal someone else they brought along. “Of course, we couldn’t forget about Aang.”

“Hey everyone!” Aang smiled gleefully. He was the only one who seemed to be happy about being there. And also the only one not related to any of them there.

“Well, it’s about time! I’m not used to wait for anyone! Not even the Avatar!” Ozai growled.

“Shut-up. Aang happens to be my friend. And you will do as I say!” Toph demanded. Ozai was too embarrassed to say anything more, but it didn’t stop Zuko from laughing slightly.

“Wow, Toph, you must tell me what you did to control him. He never acted like that with me.” Ursa smirked at Ozai, glad that someone finally set him straight.

“She’s Toph! She does whatever she wants! And no telling her any secrets Toph! I don’t want her turning into you!” Sokka glared at Toph.

Katara turned her head towards Aang. “Why does this have to happen every time we decide to have a family reunion? Why does everyone here have to be related to everyone else? The only one I’m not is you.”

Aang smiled sheepishly, wondering if he should tell Katara. “Well… actually, I’ve been spending more time in the spirit world. And I saw your mom there.”

“That’s nice. How is she?” Katara smiled, hoping for some good news.

“Yeah, she’s hot!” Aang said as he dreamed about her.

“This is so messed up!” Katara grunted as she smacked her forehead.
