Zuko waited until Iroh left before he moved. He thought about what was said. Iroh was right. He did need to change. He needed to stop this foolishness.

The first thing Zuko did was write a note to Iroh. Inside were instructions about Zuko’s plan. It was going to be a fresh new start for him. He smiled as he finished the letter, before he headed to the shower. Things were going to go well for him.

Katara walked with her head down after she left Zuko’s room. The last thing she wanted was for Iroh to think something was going on between her and Zuko, especially when she was supposed to be marrying Aang. Things were not going to go well at all.

“Katara, there you are. Are you alright?” Aang asked as he noticed his fiancé look sadder than normal.

“I’m fine. I’m just really tired. I think I’ll go lay down for a bit.” She reassured him as she kissed his lips.

“Ok. The rest of us are going shopping. If you feel better later on, come find us.” He said as he raced down the hall with Sokka, Ty Lee and Toph.

Katara smiled as she watched Aang leave. She was making the right decision. She really did love Aang. She would be happy with him. But Zuko… Zuko was her weakness. The sooner they left the better. Unfortually, she was never that lucky. They would be there for at least a month more. Oh, the torture she was going to endure. No, she wasn’t going to think about him anymore. She loved Aang and that’s all there was to it.

Sokka became excited every time they stopped at a new shop. All these new trinkets to see trilled him. Ty Lee was not much help either. She encouraged Sokka as she hugged him at every new item he purchased.

“Suki isn’t going to be happy when she comes.” Toph smiled as she listened to the two shoppers.

“What do you mean?” Aang asked as he wasn’t paying attention to anything going on. He was still thinking about Katara. Something about her worried him.

“Sokka is supposed to be with Suki, right? Well, Ty Lee and Sokka keep flirting with each other and Suki won’t stand for that. It’s going to be funny seeing Snoozles get beat up by Suki.” Toph laughed as she thought of Sokka running in fear from Suki.

“Yeah, I guess.” Aang continued to stare at Toph while she laughed. He was intrigued by her laugh. It was soothing to him.

Toph started to feel Aang staring at her and became uncomfortable at the situation. “What are you staring at twinkle toes?”

“Oh, nothing. I just like your laugh is all. It’s nice.” Aang blushed as he realized what he just said. “I guess we better move on.” He rushed away from Toph quickly as he thought of what happened back there. It was strange. Why did he blush? He was in love with Katara, right?

Toph wondered what was going on with Aang. She could tell his heart beat faster and he blushed. But she wasn’t sure why. He’s heard her laugh before, why would he stare at her now? He was strange.

Katara could not sleep as she lay in her bed. She keep thinking about that morning and wondered what would have happened if Iroh did not show. Or worse, if Aang came. She shuttered at the thought of it. She couldn’t have Aang see her like that. She sighed as she walked towards the door. She needed to think about everything.

As she walked down the hall, a familiar voice came from around the corner. It was one she knew and one she was glad to hear.

“Suki!” She exclaimed as she hugged the Kyoshi warrior.

“Katara! It’s good to see you.” Suki exclaimed. “How is Sokka? And where is he?”

“He’s fine. He just went shopping with the others.”

“Ah. I see. So, I won’t see him for a while.” Suki laughed as she and Katara walked towards the garden to talk.

Zuko entered Iroh’s study with the letter in his hand. His hand was shaking as he handed it to Iroh.

“Are you sure about this?” Iroh asked after he read it over.

“Yes, I’m sure.” Zuko nodded with certainty.

“I’ll see that it’s taken care of.” Iroh headed towards the door before he turned around and looked at his nephew. “I’m proud of you Zuko. You’re doing the right thing.”
Chapter Six of the Missed Chances here. I actually had it for a while but didn't want to post it because I thought it was more of a filler chapter than anything else. But I really wanted to get to the next chapters, so I posted it up.

And we see the beginning of many complicated relationships now. Cookie if you can name all of them.
