The two of them sat together against the tree, enjoying their lazy time together. He ran his fingers through her long hair while watching the clouds pass by. She rested against his chest, listening to his heartbeat. It was, in fact, a perfect day.
"Snoozles, what you thinking about?" Toph asked as she shifted against him. If she was able to see, she would be able to stare right into his eyes.
"Nothing much." He replied, his eyes still glued to the sky. "You. And me."
"Oh?"
"Yeah. I was thinking about all of this. How it all happened." He smiled. A few moments passed before he looked down at her face. "How happy I've been."
"You're just saying that." She blushed. She'd been blushing for a while now. And no matter how often he praised her, she still blushed. Stupid Sokka.
"No. I really mean it." He protested.
She knew how he felt-he knew she did. Still this was something he felt he had to emphasis. Something he never mentioned to her.
"Can I tell you something?" He waited until she nodded before continuing. "You remember how during the war I was with Suki? Well, I started to notice something. I cared for Suki very much, but something was missing. I began missing you. I missed spending time with you, doing pranks with you; I even missed your jokes on me. I assumed it was because I was with my girlfriend and not my friends. But Suki noticed. She knew. She was I settled for and not what I wanted. You were what I wanted. You were what I dreamed of."
Toph sat in silence thinking about what he said. This was the first time he mentioned anything like this before. Yeah, she knew he liked Suki, but she always assumed it was more than that. But she knew he wasn't lying. And that counted for something.
"You know that's the cheesiest thing I've ever heard. Worse than what Sweetness said about her engagement."
"I know." He smiled.
"But I like it." She smiled as she rested her head back against his chest. "Hey Snoozles"
"Yeah?"
"You're my dream too."

Dreaming: Tokka
Sokka cracked open his eyes and wondered what had woken him. It was the middle of the night, and he was usually such a heavy sleeper. He couldn't see much in the dim light of his bedroom.
But he could feel something.
Someone was in his room.
Sitting next to him.
On his bed.
He felt hands on his ribs, caressing his skin."Good morning, Sokka."
He turned to the familiar voice. "Toph?" He could make out her shape as his vision became accustomed to the darkness. She was wearing nothing but a shirt that barely covered her thighs. He forced himself to look at her face.

Tokka Week: Secrets
Sokka had half a dozen reasons why they should leave the Fire Nation on the next morning's ferry and go back to Toph's place. First, it was closer to where Aang was, in case they had to ride off to the rescue for some reason. Second, it wasn't like they would get to spend any more time with Zuko, Mai, or little Lu Ten. Zuko was too busy conferring with his advisers, as usual, and Mai and the baby were involved in all sorts of Fire Nation heir ceremonies. Third, hanging around here they would just get in trouble. (Zuko loved when they visited, but after the third time Toph and Sokka got drunk, broke into the stables and set all the ostrich hor

Tokka Week - Heart-Together
Heart/Together
"I'm sorry, Toph. There's nothing else I can do."
Toph could feel everything that had happened. She felt Katara and Aang trying to save him, trying to stop the bleeding, the desperation, the hopelessness.
"Actually," Katara said, "after that battle, I'm amazed that he got back here at all. And he's still holding on..."
"He's strong." It was all the explanation Toph needed to give.
Katara tried to hide the sorrow in her voice; she was nearly successful. "Aang and I have said everything we need to say." Toph nodded without turning to face them. "The kids..."
Toph was brought out of her daze. "Yeah, the kids." She t

Well, look at that. Fluff. I don't do fluff. I can't write it. But, was having a contest "dreams" and I thought, why not try something? Originally, I had something tearjerking and more like me-you know, death/sadness/etc. But this little fluffy cheesy idea came to me and I ran with it. Go figure.
Oh, and this is a few years after the war and they married now. Or something like that.
Critique is always appreciated.
I own nothing.

You know, I think I've read this before. I wonder why I didn't it then? Have I already commented? Oh well, if I did I'm doing it again.
This is very sweet! A little one on one time between the two.
